Fredericksbrug Jaycees Helps Local Friendly’s

Fredericksburg, Va, February 9, 2012: FREDERICKSBRUG JAYCEES HELPS LOCAL FRIENDLY’S Fredericksburg, Va. February 9, 2012: According to the Boston Globe, Friendly’s Ice Cream Corp. has become another victim of the economic decline. The inability to attract customers caused 63 of nearly 500 locations to close. Although Friendly’s is going through a financial restructuring, keeping 424 Friendly’s locations alive, 1200 people became unemployed. This is just one of many stories we hear all too often in the news these days.

The Fredericksburg Jaycees are one of many non-profit organizations supporting local businesses who in turn support them through fundraising programs. On Thursday, February 9th, the Jaycees are partnering with the Fredericksburg Friendly’s through its Family Fun Night Fundraising program. This marks the first of many Jaycees fundraisers for the year. This fundraiser will help the Jaycees raise funds for their upcoming community service projects and events, while supporting Friendly’s in their endeavor to bring the community together.

“Participating in a fundraiser is a great way to support all aspects of your community. Not only are you supporting the organization and its cause, you’re also contributing to the economic strength of your community,” says Jennifer Yager, President of the Fredericksburg Jaycees Chapter.

When you walk into the Friendly’s located on 2068 Plank Road, on February 9, 2012, between the hours of 6pm and 9pm expect a greeting from a smiling member of the Fredericksburg Jaycees. The members of this organization will seat you and help make your stay a pleasant one. The Fredericksburg Jaycees hope to bring in a hundred community members to reach their fundraising goals. The Fredericksburg Chapter of the United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) gives young people between the ages of 21 and 40 the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections. To participate bring your fundraising voucher, found at this website: www.friendlyfundraiser.eventbrite.com and present it to the Friendly’s staff when checking out. Don’t have a voucher ask for one from your Jaycees host upon your arrival. For more information or to volunteer contact www.fburgjayceeswmvp@gmail.com.
